SCIENTISTS & OVERSEER NIGHTS 7 & 8 Unlike everyone else, you know exactly why you're here. You've been hired to do a job, and it's time to carry it through. Sure, it's a bit odd to wake up with all the residents you were going to be overseeing, but it doesn't really matter. Once everyone is asleep, you have a chance to slip out. After all, the curfew doesn't apply to staff. Once you've left your assigned apartment, Judy's calm, even voice speaks up from the ceiling. "Good evening. It's time to get to work..." She directs you down to the first floor, through a courtroom and an eerily clean room where there's a number pad. You know the code already: 6227#316. Down you go into the operating theater, and through it to the program labs. Here, you'll find everything you may need to carry out your work from the terminal describing that work to a wide variety of tools to be used in the operating theater. After all, none of this is unfamiliar to you. Since you woke up, you knew what you were going to be doing here. You just had to wait until the curfew was in place. The drugs that effect everyone else don't bother you, since you received your shot to resist it. Though, oddly, you know you have that resistance, but you can't quite remember when you got it... Welcome, science team. It's time to get to work so that you can go home all the quicker.

The two people that sent Kei on me. They're not able to kill every other day like we are, are they?

Or did they decline to choose someone before the first trial because it was too soon to guess?

[judgejudy]

They are, yes. They select a resident and a weapon. However, that is where their role ends. The previous selections opted not to do anything. Kei chose to come after you.

When Luke was killed, you told us that there were six people working against us. With Franziska and Kei dead, there are four now, correct?

[judgejudy]

No. Five remain, since Kei did not possess a role. He was simply armed by one of the teams.

I have observed that they deny choosing the obvious answer... I believe Adam was only killed because of his confession, not because of his behavior during the trial or the fact that he would have been highly motivated to kill.

Considering that information, I think we should choose someone Ciel would be highly motivated to kill.

[jackhole]

[ rhys just nods because, well. yeah. his trial was one whole example of that. ]

Alice then? It'd be Alice, I think. Since she's the most vocal about his guilt.

Have you finished what you were supposed to make?

Ava has issued Alvin or Angel as the next participants in the experiment. Do either two of you left have any disagreements?

[puffing]

I wanted to talk about who could be a suspect for the role related to Kei. We couldn't get into it during the trial for obvious reasons, but did anyone here actually talk to the guy? If he didn't make a habit of talking to many people, I think it's safe to bet that it was someone that knew him that would be willing to trust him with a weapon and a job.

[turinged]

He was in my room. I don't know who he might have been close to, however.

It sounds as if you have already decided "who," so let us move onto "what". Once the sleep aids have been dispensed, you may go to apartment two to collect your chosen subject.

But what tool would you like to give? Today's selections are: The Redneck, The Dwarf, and the Fatman. Though should you select it, do be careful with the last one... Please inform me of your selection once you have decided.

I will not ask what the tools are before selecting, but which is capable of causing the most grievous physical harm?

[judgejudy]

It would be the Fatman by far. However, as it is explosive in nature, there is a risk of injuring yourself. The secondary choice would be the Dwarf.

[ okay, he is making very sure he gets ava and bigby here before anything else because it is urgent. he doesn't even sit in the chair before he gets to talking, arms crossed over his chest and eyes wide. ]

Okay, so. Elizabeth told Jack she suspects me as staff and is going to try and guide the trial to get me killed tomorrow. So, one of the collars is going on me and the other is going on Elizabeth.

[ a pause and -- ]

Oh, and Ciel is alive. Judy told me.

...He is alive? Did she give any indication of what happened to him?
