scientists - nights 9 & 10
![]() NIGHTS 9 & 10 Unlike everyone else, you know exactly why you're here. You've been hired to do a job, and it's time to carry it through. Sure, it's a bit odd to wake up with all the residents you were going to be overseeing, but it doesn't really matter. Once everyone is asleep, you have a chance to slip out. After all, the curfew doesn't apply to staff. Once you've left your assigned apartment, Judy's calm, even voice speaks up from the ceiling. "Good evening. It's time to get to work..." She directs you down to the first floor, through a courtroom and an eerily clean room where there's a number pad. You know the code already: 6227#316. Down you go into the operating theater, and through it to the program labs. Here, you'll find everything you may need to carry out your work from the terminal describing that work to a wide variety of tools to be used in the operating theater. After all, none of this is unfamiliar to you. Since you woke up, you knew what you were going to be doing here. You just had to wait until the curfew was in place. The drugs that effect everyone else don't bother you, since you received your shot to resist it. Though, oddly, you know you have that resistance, but you can't quite remember when you got it... Welcome, science team. It's time to get to work so that you can go home all the quicker. |

[ he speaks with a slight tinge of bitterness in his voice at this point. ]
You saw how quick Angel was to almost kill herself to make sure he didn't get away with what he did. Elizabeth would have been the same way, I guarantee it. The plan didn't work out how any of you wanted and it's done with.
Roles don't mean shit in this place. There's a good chance almost all of us are dead, but hey. Rhys says it's supposed to be real nice, so why not?
[ Bigby's trusty cigarette is smothered into the ashtray and he just resounds himself to what the future entails. ]
If she lives this time, we'll just come back to wanting her dead next meeting. She's a threat. I can't control her. I won't control her, collars or otherwise. The only thing I can do is put her out of her misery.

Why not?

[A slight pause.]
It may be difficult for the victim to effectively fight back during an assessment, but I do not think it is difficult for them to leave a small injury that would help with identification. Franziska was able to injure Adam, and I was almost injured by Veronica. We are not targeting children any longer.

but rhys is feeling resentful after everything that's happened and he gestures to bigby before shrugging. ]
True but on the other hand, the experiment is about stress levels, isn't it? How much can we torture the partipants? And I gotta say, it's pretty stressful to kill your other half in cold blood. Maybe Bigby should have to do so too considering it's his fault we didn't take out the obvious threat earlier. All that undue stress.
[ implying there what he did to jack just the day before. ]

If we are concerned about stress levels, there are other participants we could select. This is about eliminating someone we believe may have a role, and pose a danger to us. That becomes pointless if carrying out the assessment becomes a danger as well.
You are biased.

I'm paranoid and I don't trust the guy. And after all this, I feel like I'm owed a bit of emotional satisfaction.

but okay. ]
Uh. Sure then. [ . . . ] Super don't die, Ciel. We kind of need you?

If he gets to demand Elizabeth dies, I get to demand who kills her. It is on me. I don't want to see his little fingers so much as even touch her, and I have a better chance of coming out of it unscathed than you or Ciel.
[ just going to mean mug 'tf out of all of you guys. ]
Any of you have a problem with that, my vote's changing. We'll sit here all night and hash it out if we need to.

Yeah, I wanted her to live a while longer. I made a promise to her to earn her trust. It would have been a dick move to let her die the next fucking night. She needs to know why she's going to be killed before it happens. I don't trust any of you to do that for me.
[ his face actually drops as he stares at Ava, looking to be genuine at the very least. ]
You're a goddamn robot. Rhys is a lunatic. Ciel is a kid pretending to be older than he is. Let me have this.

...If I agree, you will owe me a favor of my choosing in the future.
