scientists - nights 9 & 10
![]() NIGHTS 9 & 10 Unlike everyone else, you know exactly why you're here. You've been hired to do a job, and it's time to carry it through. Sure, it's a bit odd to wake up with all the residents you were going to be overseeing, but it doesn't really matter. Once everyone is asleep, you have a chance to slip out. After all, the curfew doesn't apply to staff. Once you've left your assigned apartment, Judy's calm, even voice speaks up from the ceiling. "Good evening. It's time to get to work..." She directs you down to the first floor, through a courtroom and an eerily clean room where there's a number pad. You know the code already: 6227#316. Down you go into the operating theater, and through it to the program labs. Here, you'll find everything you may need to carry out your work from the terminal describing that work to a wide variety of tools to be used in the operating theater. After all, none of this is unfamiliar to you. Since you woke up, you knew what you were going to be doing here. You just had to wait until the curfew was in place. The drugs that effect everyone else don't bother you, since you received your shot to resist it. Though, oddly, you know you have that resistance, but you can't quite remember when you got it... Welcome, science team. It's time to get to work so that you can go home all the quicker. |

I'm not -- I'm not throwing a tantrum! They're betraying us! Everyone's fucking betraying us!
[ and he was SO CHILL a moment ago but now he's definitely throwing something across the room here. ]
Judy, fucking answer!

Stop whining and see if you can get through to Judy from the terminal. Or see if you can open the doors. Now!

This is -- this is why he changed his mind, you know! I told you. I told you they were planning something. They don't get it, none of them get it. Who gives a shit about this place compared to -- to the rest?
[ IS HE GOING TO GET THE DOORS OPEN OR GET TO JUDY........ ]

Rhys, Ciel, please relax. I had minor business to attend to.

Bigby is dying, and Elizabeth should follow within twenty-four hours. They are between the second and third floor landing.
no subject
So -- so Bigby betrayed us. Just like I said he would!
[ HE WAS RIGHT HE WAS RIGHT HE WAS RIGHT HE WAS RIGHT ]
-- The trial. Who are they going to vote for if Bigby is dead?!
no subject
I cannot answer your secondary concern. However, depending on how conscious Elizabeth is tomorrow, it is not impossible that she may convince the residents to vote for me, actually.

[ he's scrubbing his hands through his hair here, starting to pace a little as he thinks. what next what next whaaat next -- ]
Okay, but what if one of us kills her before she gets the chance? Judy, she has a role, doesn't she? There's no way she causes this much trouble for us without a fucking role!
no subject
But you don't know with what certainty she would get others to vote for you, do you, Judy?
no subject
But I do not, no. This depends on how much she will remember of our encounter. I expect there to be gaps. But I cannot predict where they may lie.

We are not voting for Judy!
no subject
We are voting for Judy.
I've already discussed it with her previously. [Which now makes him want to punch himself in the face. WHY DIDN'T HE DO THIS SOONER, HONESTLY. Listen.] Nothing is going to happen except the fact she will be enjoying it.
no subject
What the hell are you talking about?! If they vote for her, they'll kill her!
no subject
Judy manages this entire place. [Sigh!] Judy, what would happen if all of the residents voted for you?
no subject
But for the sake of continuing the experiment, I will select a guilty party in my stead. I already know who I would select, as their violations of protocol have been violations, but ultimately harmless. This presents an opportunity to remove them from the population.

[ all the panic just sort of goes out of him in one immediate breath and now he kind of feels dizzy from the adrenaline rush. ugh, he's not made for this kind of life. ]
-- Well, uh. That's cool then, I guess.

[Pointed look at Rhys.]
no subject
... What do you want me to do?
tidies these up gomen
[GUESS WHAT DIDN'T HAPPEN.]
no subject
Shut up! [To Rhys. LET HIM THINK A MINUTE.] They have no one else to vote for except you and me unless something else occurred.
What happened to Bigby and Elizabeth?! Judy, just kill them already! [Too late, he's already going.] Open the door!

Overseer, what do you plan to do?
