scientists - nights 9 & 10

SCIENTISTS & OVERSEER
NIGHTS 9 & 10

Unlike everyone else, you know exactly why you're here.

You've been hired to do a job, and it's time to carry it through. Sure, it's a bit odd to wake up with all the residents you were going to be overseeing, but it doesn't really matter. Once everyone is asleep, you have a chance to slip out. After all, the curfew doesn't apply to staff. Once you've left your assigned apartment, Judy's calm, even voice speaks up from the ceiling.

"Good evening. It's time to get to work..."

She directs you down to the first floor, through a courtroom and an eerily clean room where there's a number pad. You know the code already: 6227#316. Down you go into the operating theater, and through it to the program labs. Here, you'll find everything you may need to carry out your work from the terminal describing that work to a wide variety of tools to be used in the operating theater.

After all, none of this is unfamiliar to you. Since you woke up, you knew what you were going to be doing here. You just had to wait until the curfew was in place. The drugs that effect everyone else don't bother you, since you received your shot to resist it. Though, oddly, you know you have that resistance, but you can't quite remember when you got it...

Welcome, science team. It's time to get to work so that you can go home all the quicker.

[ screw it, if ava won't say it -- he will. ]

It has to be Elizabeth and I'm not going to listen to Bigby anymore about this. He's obviously got a bias and the fact the asshole didn't even notice she was working with Jack that much, what the fuck?

[ he gives a shake of his head. ]

It's Elizabeth, no question. And Bigby kills her for dragging it out so long. If he just listened to us weeks ago, I wouldn't have had to do what I did.
turinged: (how it feels to pass a day)

[personal profile] turinged 2016-11-01 05:38 pm (UTC)(link)
I agree with you, but I was under the impression that our voting had to be unanimous.

[personal profile] jackhole 2016-11-01 05:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, and Ciel has the final say so.

[ gestures to their shitty overseer ]

Who are we voting for?

Someone's pissy they aren't dead.

[ he's not even going to threaten to kill Rhys for being an asshole himself. he's gotten enough of that for one day, and honestly, death is too sweet of an embrace for him. he gets to live a little while longer. maybe even longer than Elizabeth. maybe even longer than― ]

You don't need to wait on him to get your vote. I'll do it.
jackhole: (pic#9981115)

[personal profile] jackhole 2016-11-01 06:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes. Yes, I am.

[ SOMEONE FREE HIM...... but ugh fine. good. he honestly doesn't want to argue more about this. he rubs his robot hand over his face and sighs wearily. ]

Fine. Good. Someone changed their tune now but hell, I won't question it.
alittlemaster: <user name=mewtube site=livejournal.com> (Ay go and rock with it.)

[personal profile] alittlemaster 2016-11-01 08:07 pm (UTC)(link)
[It's questionable at best. The only good eye Ciel has left regards Bigby with some curious caution.] Yes, but why?

What makes you all think Elizabeth has a role? And which one?

Bigby. Why would you disagree with Elizabeth wearing one of the collars, but now you are inclined to let her go through the assessment?
puffing: (ᴛᴇɴ﹪ғᴜʀʀʏ / ᴄᴏᴍɪᴄ ― 109.)

[personal profile] puffing 2016-11-01 08:29 pm (UTC)(link)
I disagreed with her wearing a collar with him on the other side of it. [ a singular finger pointed in his direction. ] Don't know if you saw everything that happened in the trial, but if you did, you can understand why.

[ he pauses and considers his next words carefully. ]

Elizabeth is someone most likely to find out who the rest of you are. If you think I want her dead, you're a fucking idiot. But we all have a job to do.

So shut up, vote for her and move on with it.
alittlemaster: <user name=copyking> (You see this blood on my hands?)

[personal profile] alittlemaster 2016-11-01 08:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Rhys was the exact reason the collar should have been on her to begin with. More so if she, in fact, has a role. [His eye narrows.] If she could protect other people, she wouldn't have been as willing to make her life a sacrifice.

Are you actually going to take care of her?

If you want her to live, everyone has to vote for someone else, but then the burden of keeping her from figuring out the rest of us and how to get rid of us lands on you.
puffing: (ᴛᴇɴ﹪ғᴜʀʀʏ / ɢᴀᴍᴇ ― o65.)

[personal profile] puffing 2016-11-01 09:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Rhys was fucked the moment he decided to stab a bunch of people and kill others without telling us beforehand. Or maybe he told you. Who knows. You've been kind of MIA.

[ he speaks with a slight tinge of bitterness in his voice at this point. ]

You saw how quick Angel was to almost kill herself to make sure he didn't get away with what he did. Elizabeth would have been the same way, I guarantee it. The plan didn't work out how any of you wanted and it's done with.

Roles don't mean shit in this place. There's a good chance almost all of us are dead, but hey. Rhys says it's supposed to be real nice, so why not?

[ Bigby's trusty cigarette is smothered into the ashtray and he just resounds himself to what the future entails. ]

If she lives this time, we'll just come back to wanting her dead next meeting. She's a threat. I can't control her. I won't control her, collars or otherwise. The only thing I can do is put her out of her misery.
alittlemaster: (Now I pay the price)

[personal profile] alittlemaster 2016-11-01 10:14 pm (UTC)(link)
[Ciel's staring is a little strange, but he doesn't seem to be upset nor amused. Glancing at the other two, he nods his head. Vote for Elizabeth since someone has already peed in Bigby's cornflakes.]
turinged: (hungry for the histories they show me)

[personal profile] turinged 2016-11-02 01:33 am (UTC)(link)
If you will accept an assessment being carried out on her, I also agree. However, I do not think you should be the one to carry it out.
jackhole: (pic#9982039)

[personal profile] jackhole 2016-11-02 01:35 am (UTC)(link)
[ well that surprises rhys, so he's definitely piping up here. ]

Why not?
turinged: (as they will never know me)

[personal profile] turinged 2016-11-02 01:39 am (UTC)(link)
Given his emotional attachments to her, I doubt his ability to carry it out effectively.

[A slight pause.]

It may be difficult for the victim to effectively fight back during an assessment, but I do not think it is difficult for them to leave a small injury that would help with identification. Franziska was able to injure Adam, and I was almost injured by Veronica. We are not targeting children any longer.
jackhole: (pic#10153579)

[personal profile] jackhole 2016-11-02 01:44 am (UTC)(link)
[ rhys looks thoughtful for a moment, considering ava's words and well, maybe she's right.

but rhys is feeling resentful after everything that's happened and he gestures to bigby before shrugging. ]

True but on the other hand, the experiment is about stress levels, isn't it? How much can we torture the partipants? And I gotta say, it's pretty stressful to kill your other half in cold blood. Maybe Bigby should have to do so too considering it's his fault we didn't take out the obvious threat earlier. All that undue stress.

[ implying there what he did to jack just the day before. ]
turinged: (it is to be them)

[personal profile] turinged 2016-11-02 02:03 am (UTC)(link)
[hm. she thinks about what he's saying, too, before shaking her head.]

If we are concerned about stress levels, there are other participants we could select. This is about eliminating someone we believe may have a role, and pose a danger to us. That becomes pointless if carrying out the assessment becomes a danger as well.

You are biased.
jackhole: (pic#10153068)

[personal profile] jackhole 2016-11-02 02:07 am (UTC)(link)
[ he opens his mouth to argue before closing it and sighing, a hand running through his hair. ]

I'm paranoid and I don't trust the guy. And after all this, I feel like I'm owed a bit of emotional satisfaction.
jackhole: (pic#10315322)

[personal profile] jackhole 2016-11-02 02:10 am (UTC)(link)
[ OHHHH WHAT THE FUCK ]

Uhhhhh.
turinged: (just one day and then)

[personal profile] turinged 2016-11-02 02:11 am (UTC)(link)
...Are you certain? I would not be surprised if she was somehow able to conceal a weapon on her person.
alittlemaster: <user name=copyking> (I need a friend. Oh but I can't yell.)

[personal profile] alittlemaster 2016-11-02 02:12 am (UTC)(link)
I'm not worried.
turinged: (knowing them)

[personal profile] turinged 2016-11-02 02:13 am (UTC)(link)
I see. I have no objections if Bigby does not.

[who cares what rhys thinks]
jackhole: (pic#9981956)

[personal profile] jackhole 2016-11-02 02:18 am (UTC)(link)
[ ava why are you so cruel, to him, specifically

but okay. ]

Uh. Sure then. [ . . . ] Super don't die, Ciel. We kind of need you?

If you do not trust him, you should agree that he should not be allowed to do this. Your problems are your own, and I am thinking of the group.
puffing: (ᴛᴇɴ﹪ғᴜʀʀʏ / ɢᴀᴍᴇ ― oo9.)

[personal profile] puffing 2016-11-02 02:45 am (UTC)(link)
No, no. I would hate to not let Rhys have the "emotional satisfaction" of letting him see this happen.

If he gets to demand Elizabeth dies, I get to demand who kills her. It is on me. I don't want to see his little fingers so much as even touch her, and I have a better chance of coming out of it unscathed than you or Ciel.

[ just going to mean mug 'tf out of all of you guys. ]

Any of you have a problem with that, my vote's changing. We'll sit here all night and hash it out if we need to.
turinged: (and go about their lives)

[personal profile] turinged 2016-11-02 02:53 am (UTC)(link)
I do not trust you. The fact that you were so against the possibility of her being harmed last week and now have changed your mind is suspicious.
