![]() At some point when your character is alone, they'll hear Judy's even, calm voice speaking through the intercom system. The intercom is only speaking in this room, and it seems she's speaking to you and you alone. "Hello. It's time to get to work..." You're being given a chance to help stop or slow the game you've been trapped in. This isn't justice, and Judy wants you to help her stop this before it goes too far. Judy directs you up to the third floor, and though most of the doors are still locked up tight, there's one room on the Western hallway that you can now access through the code that Judy has given you: 6227#414. The room itself is a simple, barely stocked office that seems more like a storage closet than anything else. However, the radio, the televisions, and computer terminals give the impression that this might have been a communications office of some kind. Though, interestingly, it seems that you're not alone. It looks like you have a partner for the work ahead. Welcome, Think Tank. It's time to get to work and find out who among you is trying to kill everyone here. |
FIRST SESSION
"Thank you for coming," Judy explains, her voice as calm and even as always, "I've chosen both of you because I believe you can do good here. I cannot stop the events about to unfold, but I can at least do this much to slow its progress."
There's a pause, and nearby, a terminal flickers to life with its rather dated, flickering glow.
"Together, the two of you represent the Think Tank, and so it's your duty to protect your fellow residents from the danger that might befall them. There are people among us that wish to cause chaos and kill the people here, and while I cannot tell you their names directly... There is a loophole."
There's a pause again, and Judy starts again, it sounds like she's smiling.
"Together, the two of you may pick someone every night, and I can tell you if they are innocent or guilty. I can give you this information, but what you do with it after is up to you. Be careful, however. Should the guilty find out what I've asked of you, they'll surely kill you, so I advise cleverness in how you choose to make your alliances and share your information.
This is not a task to be taken lightly. I hope you'll both take it seriously, so I wish you both luck. I can answer any questions if you have them, but please make your selection on the terminal within the hour. In addition, please review the safety protocol, as this is important for ensuring the security of your position."

Of course, an explanation comes soon after and Elizabeth pans her gaze between terminal and her fellow Think Tank, still soaking all of this in... ]
...You're kidding me.
[ SORRY, ALL SHE'S GOING TO SAY. ]

Why is this happening.
Alice? is certainly not happy about this either; he looks more uncertain than anything, but the last time he was chosen for a role in a game, it sure was a shitshow.
Um. On the other hand... At least Elizabeth seems smart???]
This is totally crazy, right? They can't really expect us to just--figure out who's doing this like this all by ourselves.

Shit.
That was rough, okay. That was really rough and he's not all too happy about being here and he can imagine Liz is even worse off, and Alice? grimaces a little as he looks at her, concernedly.
But they have to do this, he knows, it's just...]
You sure you're gonna be okay?
no subject
As okay as I'm going to be.
[ Which is: not a lot. ]
I guess it's enough to say our plans went to shit, huh?

Elizabeth comes in a bit more composed than she was after the execution - in her good hand she has some messy napkins and polaroids that she's written some notes onto with eyeliner. #sacrifices Careful not to smudge, she'll slide them over to Alice? ]
First and foremost - I approached Angel privately and... Alfendi, despite his non-confirmed innocence. [ ???? chill???? ] I told them I was working alone so not to raise any suspicion to you or put you in danger. If Alfendi betrays me, you know what to do.
[ But, she'll refocus: ]
Angel agreed to work with us and try to gather information. We picked good... she was already snooping around - [ a whisper: ] and Judy didn't like that.
But... Alice, I'll be reaching out to her shortly unless you want to?

After a moment, he shakes his head, clearing his throat a little awkwardly.]
Oh... no, I can do it. Talk to Alice, I mean. I've kinda been talking to her already so... so I'll just see what I can do about asking her to help out a bit.
[CROSSES FINGERS AND PRAYS.]
Are you sure you're gonna be okay, though?

Alice? no longer really knows what to do.
He's been useless, and he'll continue to be useless; Elizabeth had told him that he needed to continue if she was gone, but..... There's nothing to continue to.
There's nothing for him to do here, and in the end, he was just as useless as he was in the beginning.
His hands clench into fists...and he finally huffs out an aggravated breath, burying his fingers into his hair, slumping. It doesn't matter. Nobody is here to see him, after all.
Besides... he does still have a little bit of work to do, doesn't he?]
